The Paso Robles Horse Park Foundation is now offering an exciting internship opportunity for individuals passionate about the equestrian industry. This is a hands-on experience designed to provide interns with a comprehensive look into the daily operations of a horse show facility. This grassroots opportunity supports local shows and provides a unique chance to explore new areas of the horse industry with a one-week commitment. Individuals of any equestrian discipline are welcome to apply.
What you’ll Learn:
Interns will rotate through various roles each day and shadow key team members to gain valuable insight into:
- Facility Management – Work alongside the Paso Park Facility Manager, Park Manager’s Right-Hand, and competition grounds crew to learn daily venue operations and preparation for the week ahead.
- Media and Marketing – Participate in social media content creation and event promotion.
- Horse Show Office – Assist with entry processing and customer service tasks.
- Licensed Officials – Shadow USEF stewards, judges, and schooling supervisors in day-to-day operations. Experience behind the scenes look at judging a National or International Hunter Derby while counting highs & lows for our judges.
- Horse Show Management – Shadow the Paso Park horse show manager and learn how shows are planned and executed. Gain experience in award ceremonies, organizing special events, show schedule planning, and more.
- Back Gate Operations – Help manage ring flow and support competitors during the show.

Important Notes:
- No housing accommodations are provided
- Interns may not be actively competing at the show they are interning at
Requirements:
- Prior horse experience
- Ability to be on your feet outdoors for 10+ hour days
- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs
- Eagerness to learn and a strong work ethic
- Must be at least 16 years old
- Reliable transportation to Paso Robles Horse Park
